I am Melody Ableson, a trained person-centred counsellor registered with the BACP. I abide by their code of ethics, hold an enhanced DBS check and am fully insured. I regularly attend courses to keep my knowledge and skills up to date, so I can provide the best possible service for my clients.
Reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to cope on your own. Therapy can help you overcome mental and emotional obstacles that are holding you back. I can help you work through any difficult issues in a calm, safe and supportive space, where you can talk freely and feel truly listened to without judgement.
Developing a deeper awareness of your feelings, patterns of behaviour and your way of relating to others helps you to understand what can be changed. It can also help you to develop a closer and more authentic relationship with yourself and others. Having a stronger, healthier relationship with ourselves and becoming aware of our needs and wants is key to our mental and physical wellbeing.
I use a person-centred approach to counselling and believe that with the right support, you can find your inner strength to lead the way forward. Through working together, you will have the opportunity to develop coping strategies and gain fresh perspectives, enabling you to feel more at peace with yourself and others, re-discovering what gives your life meaning.
You can bring past or present issues to the session, in fact anything that is on your mind. It feels such an honour and privilege to work with clients on their journey of transformation and personal growth, finding their own inner resources to create change.
With a background working in the education sector, my diverse experience spans various roles, including Special Needs co-ordinator with extensive knowledge of conditions such as autism and ADHD.
